Hi, I’m Megan, the founder of Satori Organized Living.

If you’ve spent any time on my website, you’ve seen the word "Satori." It's a Japanese Buddhist term for a moment of sudden awakening and clarity. It’s a beautiful word, but it’s also more than just a name for my business—it’s the guiding principle behind everything I do. In this post, I want to share the Satori Organized Living story—a journey that is deeply personal and the entire reason I do this work.

I’ve had clients ask what led me to this work, and the truth is, I believe this path chose me long before I chose it.

The Early Spark

My passion for creating order isn't just a career; it's a calling I've had since childhood. I was the kid who would happily skip recess to help my teachers organize their classrooms. There was something so satisfying to me about creating logical systems, labeling bins, and transforming a cluttered corner into a space of calm and function. It was an innate part of who I was.

But a childhood passion is very different from a life's purpose. My journey from one to the other was forged in one of the most difficult moments of my life.

The Defining Moment

When my father committed suicide, my world tilted on its axis. As the oldest, I found myself responsible for navigating not only my own grief but also the immense, tangible task of organizing his home and a lifetime of belongings.

Every object held a memory. Every drawer held a story. The process was completely overwhelming, a heavy weight on top of an already broken heart. But as I slowly worked my way through it, something unexpected happened.

The act of sorting, of creating order from the chaos, became a powerful form of healing. Deciding what to keep wasn't about letting go of my father; it was about choosing how to best honor his legacy. Creating organized boxes of photos and keepsakes wasn't just a task; it was an act of love. In the midst of profound loss, I found a sliver of peace. I found clarity.

I found my satori.

From a Moment of Clarity to a Mission

That experience transformed everything. I realized that what I had done for my own family, I could do for others. I understood, on a deeply personal level, that the "stuff" in our homes is never just stuff. It’s our memories, our responsibilities, our joys, and sometimes our burdens.

I founded Satori Organized Living to be the resource I wish I’d had—a service built not just on professional organizing techniques, but on a foundation of deep compassion and zero judgment.

My mission is to help you navigate your own moments of overwhelm, whether it's the happy chaos of a growing family, the stress of a move, or the profound challenge of downsizing or managing an estate. I am here to be your calm, steady partner, helping you clear the physical clutter so you can find the mental and emotional clarity you deserve.

Thank you for being here and for taking the time to read the Satori Organized Living story. If it resonates with you, I would be truly honored to help you write the next, more organized chapter of yours.
